its www.google.com ('s) version of e-mail. you can receive huge amounts of e-mail, files, pictures etc, and not have to ever delete anything. it is Beta version so no one new can sign up at the google web site, you have to get an invitation from someone who already has an account, that has been given invitations from google. people are actually buying these things on e-bay. but i'm not an ass, so i am not selling them.
will

They don't seem to be super popular here, but I also have 6 gmail invites if anyone wants an extra 2 gigs of free storage space.

do i get invites?
gmail is cool but it still feels like a beta version. i wish that individual icons were put right there for quick useage. in order toput a message in the trash you have to pull up a menu. it takes getting used to. thanks alot though it is really nifty

Hey Gespacho,

You have located the "catch" of Gmail. Gmail makes it difficult to trash messaages and easy to "archive" them. With 2 gigs of storage it's not a big deal really. The benefit to you is that the emails don't clutter up your inbox but remain available to be searched using a google-style engine.

The benefit to Google is that they regularly search your archive as well, matching key search terms to potential advertisements. You are then advertised to, by way of banners from products that most closely match what it is that you talk about.

Scary, yes. Google insists that no person ever reads any of their customer's emails. It's all done by computer. Anyone who is using Gmail should know this. But once you do, I still think it can't hurt to have 2 GIGS of free storage space.

the google mail doesnt look at what you write any more than yahoo or msn that have spam blockers. and the ads, i dont even notice them they are off to the side.
