Cute, but I bet Calvin's clothes, especially his running shoes, are made with petroleum products. :)

And the computer used to draw and view this is also alarmingly petroleum thirsty.

Scary when you think about it.

And what does this have to do with Calvin or a bit of immaturity for a giggle? Just before we step off the soapbox I will say:

There are millions of great uses for petroleum products, I just don't feel that burning millions of gallons foolishly is one of them. Medical supplies and equipment, clothing, electronics, just about any "hard good" is fine with me. The comic was meant to poke fun at OPEC whom I would like to pee on. I think there are a great deal of good products and a good number of trade organizations focused strictly on greed with no consideration for people or the environment. OPEC is just behind the pharmecutical industry in my destain.

The world would be a sad place if we couldn't giggle. I did add a smiley to my comment.

The world consumes in the neighbourhood of 84 million barrels of oil a day. About 2/3 of that is for transportation. OPEC pumps about 1/3 of the daily supply. So you could say what OPEC pumps goes into 'hard goods'. Now if they would just share that wealth with their citizens, the world would be better off. But no, they would rather cut production to keep prices high, and keep all the money for themselves.

Chris, please don't stop with your 'bits of immaturity for a giggle.' I get a frequent chuckle from some of your comments. (Is there any way to use unobtanium to skin a cat?)

haha, you know cats like leather better because they feel like they are hunting. :D we have one leather chair, guess which one my 10 year old cat uses instead of his post. when you are done with the unobtainium skinner plans send them this way, make sure its a heavy duty version thoug, as my cat weighs 20 pounds.
