In the last month, I have quit watching late-nite TV.

I can usually find much more entertainment on this forum.

The political area has both riveting drama as well as a chance for individuals to go WAY off the deep end.

But the most entertaining thing of all has to be the humor our fearless leader sticks in between everything else he does:

Please do not send mails about systems we do not offer, while I am sure that the 1973 Opal Astra Station Wagon is your family favorite, I simply do not have time to design a custom system for it witha tank that fits on the ski rack.

I will state on my honor that I have not removed any post praising Greasecar, I was however directly involved in many of the dissapearances in the Bermuda Triangle, the earthquake in Chile several years past, the Concorde incident in France, parts of the famine in Ethiopia, the failure of Apollo 1 and although I hate to admit it, the success of the Spice Girls. For each of these things I will bear a cross, but for something I did not do, I will not.

I was only responsible for "Ginger Spice", although I must admit, she was the most offensive. It was a sociological experiment to see if the population would purchase excrement if packaged properly. For the Spice Girls I am very sorry.

Without some humor to lighten the load, Chris, I'm practically certain that balancing your schedule would make a guy pull his hair out.

Wait a minute -- you've already done that!! Haven't you said someplace that you are bald?!

But we do!!

Have you gotten your kit yet?

What if his pressure bursts because he quits releasing his frustration in his witticisms here, and then when he has no more hair to pull out, he goes crazy and burns his shop down?

Then we'd never get our kits!!!!

You have no idea how many times a week I wonder why I don't just scrap the whole thing and go back to simple auto repair, I had shorter hours and made more money and could actually take days off. I justify it by saying it wilol get easier, it will provide my daughter with air to breathe, and my favorite of late...."Soon I will just sell the whole venture to someone and stay on as an advisor and tech guy". I relaese tension by taking on a general repair job now and then, spend an hour listening to Jazz and doing a service on an old Benz or Porsche after everyone has gone home for the night, or work on my bus for an hour. I love working, I love what I do, I really do not like all the supply side problems which cause delays and stress me out, these I am sure will work out as I have redesigned most components so that I no longer have to wait for a supplier someplace to get me the parts I need, I just call my machinist and order them. - Example, Permacool filter mounts, 3 months of "We will have them in stock next week sir".

PS. I have nothing to with Ginger Spice.

I can't speak for everyone else, but I for one love your humor. I sold an insurance agancy last year, after about 10 years of exactly the sentiments you just explained. And the enjoyment had worn off, but the drudgerey had continued merrily on.

Part of this was my personal attitude toward the tasks I was forced to handle to keep customers happy, when I alone had done a job for them no competitor would have done, charged them fairly at best, and then had to put up with the problems generally created by them not understanding their own policy or their impatience to that fact that I did have one or two other clients.

I for one would understand if did scrap the whole thing one day, but for our selfish sakes, I hope you don't.

I hope my joke about the 73 Opal brought a chuckle to your face.

If I inspired any portion of the the ebay paragraph in your last post, I apologize if I've in any way been a part of the problem. I am patiently waiting until I hear from you.

Sometimes being stubborn is a very positive thing. "Simple auto repair" just wouldn't have the same challenges. The growing pains will subside - it seems most of them are caused by success and the fact that there are only 24 hours to the day. Those growing pains are MUCH better than the alternative!

In time you'll hire more of the right people, make them work for some equity, retain majority control, delegate more work to trusted assistants, manage to control the supply problems and have an easier life. Until then - get back in the pit!
