Ray Holan one of the forum members has just finished his book "Sliding Home". The book will be available shortly for around $25.00.
Here is an image of the back cover he has sent me:

Although I don't quite categorize brewing co.'s with cigarette/oil companies and drug dealers I wouldn't feel 'right' purchasing from one with an association.
If printing space was wasted for 'non-related' subjects ON THE COVERS (www.pub-something) I wonder how much more wasted space (non-related padding) throghout the rest of the book there is.
I wonder if it provides 'further' insegnificant (for the reader of course) URL addresses of 'inconsistant what have yous' et infinitum.
I'll pass.
THX anyway

For the love of Pete, it is a brewpub, a restauraunt which also brews it's own beer and they don't sponsor it, they simply sell the damn book. Ray probably owns tha place or knows the people who do, I hardly think not buying a book printed by a vanity press because a brewpub is selling copies is really a meaningful political statement. If it said "Sponsored by Anhieser Busch" I could see your point, but all it says is "additional copies available at..." You better pass on most of the finest works of literature as well because I am sure some large corps with interest in other companies also own stock in book stores.
Give the guy a break before you hang him as a corporate patsy.

Oh, the poor maligned ass!
I had an ass once. It loved to be scratched, and although it was often smelly, I loved it, and I learned from it that not all asses are the same.
Some are larger than others, some are shy, some are flambouyant, some are handsome or pretty, some ain't... But none are dumb.
In fact, of all the equines I've known and loved, my little Dixie was the smartest of the bunch. She never shied from doing anything she wanted to, and would flat out refuse to do anything she didn't feel was safe (and she was usually right, like the time we were walking along a pasture edge and she stopped dead in her tracks until I, too, saw the snake ...). ;)

A truely bizarr thread, I feel funny even keeping the conversation going. But I trust that those who question the moral function of the brew pub realize that much of the worlds great literature of the past 500 years was born in or developed around the tables of brew pubs. They were after all some of the few places folks could gather.
What books you ask, well one that seems to have gotten a little press lately comes to mind, I think it was called "lord of the beer stine" or "lord of the rings" or something. Oh yeah, and then some dude named Luther wrote some stuff that made a big stink in 1517 and changed religion as we know it. Hey for that matter, don't most monistaries on the world brew beer????:-)

I would ask to have your dosage increased to 200mg a day, increase by 25mg a day thereafter until rationality sets in. This also reminds me to look into a spell/grammer checker for the forum...

Hey Chris,
You 'could've/should've' been a politician!
You know your way 'around' arguments (or is Hilary, -no, I meant your wife helping you with this thread?
Not to insinuate that you can't handle it 'alone,' just curious:-)
Do stay composed ya'll
And, like I don't get tired of saying it; God Bless
P.S. Seems like you got a couple members (young spoiled #&*^% that can't compose comprehensible and humanly-oriented replies without exhorting to vulgarity, I though the greasecar guys STAYED at greasecar).
God Bless their puny 'little' ASS (I had to use a word THEY UNDERSTAND, sorry).

LOL my significant other could not care less, her interests lie elsewhere. She appreciates what I do and knows me for who I am, bad and good, but could really care less about veg oil or cars in general. On top of that having a Masters in Psyc makes almost everything she says inconclusive and openended...And she can not argue worth a bean. She still often wins because I have learned to choose my battles, that when she is happy the house is happy and that I can roll my eyes when she is not looking.....I still often catch her as I am sly.
Keep up the good work, I need a laugh a day.

A very simple web search would have explained all of this. The brew company runs their shuttle on vegetable oil direct from their brewpub:

I would guess that this was a project that involved the author, and that they clearly support using SVO in vehicles. If they don't deserve to be viewed in a positive light for this, then I'm not sure whose side you're on.
(I suppose there are better ways to introduce myself to a forum... ;)
And no, I'm not associated with the brewpub or the author or the book.

All I can say is I own this book and it is by far the best resource out there. I think if you're going to run WVO this is the book for you.

ROFLMFAO!!!!!
Well my post will most likely kill the thread, (it usually does) I just read the whole thing over and over again!
Mandilon,
I'm surprised to see such a visceral response to Chris' posting of the book "Sliding Home". Are you in 'recovery'? Is someone you love? Or, have you just bought into the far right bible thumping hoopla? or just the "far right" the comment about "Hillary" makes me think the later. Also the "Mission Completed" comment bears evidence. Just the mention of the words "brew pub" strikes terror in your heart.
Now this is why I say its still GREAT to be American, here we have a far right, bible thumper that obviously supports wvo use. What is the reason? to, as the URL says, "ShoveItOPECbig3.us". Interesting that Mandilon, you want to shove it to the very source of the area you appear to align yourself with! Meaning, 'dub-ya'=big oil; bible belt=oil belt and so on.
gawd is this a GREAT country or what?!?
As far as the dumb-ass comment and resulting poetic retort :D !!
I will refrain from using the word dumb-ass, because as pointed out in an earlier thread by Dieselburps, I have referred to almost half the planet as dumb-asses! Besides, lest someone is involved in policy management or has direct impact on someone else's welfare, I prefer ignorant to dumb-ass.
Just for the record, I'm buying the book and if the brew-pub is selling a T-shirt I'm buying that too!
As always IMHO,
Carl
