Today my 83 300 td started and ran fine with the Zerostart heater it was 20*. I made it about 5 miles from my house and the fuel gelled so the car stalled.. I cranked and cranked but no restart. I even got a jump start but no start. Now the glow plug light does not come on. I did not have time to check the relay fuse or test the glow plugs but does the relay fuse blow after a lot of cranking? Or could I have burned up a few glow plugs?? Thanks for any help! Thomas

Check the fuse, on the firewall I believe.

If you have a glow go out the light will flash on most models, so I would look at the fuse first. Why did the fuel gell??

Thanks Chris, I will check the relay fuse in the AM.You say it is on the firewall, I thought it was a big 80Amp on the fender well? The fuel gelled because my veggie tank is not heated, I must have sucked up some hydrogenated oil in the line because I was down below 1/4 of a tank of veggie..It was below 20 degrees the last 2 days. Thanks Thomas

May be on the fender, it is in different places on different models but it is a strip fuse and I believe the only one on that model. Some mercs flash if a plug is out, others do not light at all. Let me know what you find.
