Moving to aluminum hose fittings
Just completed a replumb job on the Suburban. Some of the brass fuel fittings have been in there for 5 years. Black inside and a buildup of slime. I had installed a few aluminum fittings a couple of years back and they were clean inside.
Reused all the aluminum fittings and discarded the brass. I'm changing to all aluminum fittings.
I did the research so here are the links to make it easy:
The following from McMasters
Aluminum Barbed Hose Fitting Std-Wall Adapter, 5/16" Hose ID X 1/4" NPT Male Pipe
Aluminum Barbed Hose Fitting Coupling for 3/8" Hose ID
Aluminum Single-Barbed Tube Fittings Coupling for 3/8" Tube ID, Blue
2975 - Mr. Gasket Barb Fuel Pressure Gauge Fitting
90° NPT to Hose Fitting 1/4" NPT to 3/8" Hose
1/4" NPT Coupling
3/8" Hose Barb to 1/4" NPT Male
Fitting, Adapter, Female Pipe Tee 1/4 in. NPT, Aluminum, Blue Anodized, Each
Fittings, Internal Allen Head Pipe Plug, 1/4 in. NPT, Aluminum, Blue Anodized, Set of 4
That should cover most of the major items you'll need to covert over to aluminum over time. Recommend you do it in stages. No need to do it all at once. Brass appears to be fine for Diesel. Aluminum better for SVO.
