my friend has a 2003 jetta converted for 2 years and has had no problems. basically, if you're looking for a tdi to convert, stick w/ a >=2003 jetta or golf. all passats and models after 2003 have a Pump Duese (auxiliary fuel pump). this makes conversion exponentially more difficult from an electrical standpoint. you need to install a fuel pump just for vo. between wiring and space considerations it's a challenge. save yourself the hassle and go easier. best of all is an early 80's mercedes.

slow down, there are many who have converted PD to run on WVO. this is really the wrong forum to get information.
shutting off the diesel pump and activating the aux pump is pretty straight forward.
what people really need to understand is that the engine does best while on the autoroute; if most of your driving is in traffic it might be best to make BD instead.
just my 2 cents worth
