Nice work!
How did you get the lines routed back to tank like that? Without rubbing against rear suspension components... I couldnt get mine in like that, so I had to go up under rear seat. Ive got 87 300D, maybe its a bit different. Love the FPHE, Im using the old copper coil type, real pain to fit in there. Did you loop the wvo return yet? Your benz will love it. How is it running? how many miles on it now? Paul

I have bad news. My 90 has been totaled out. Some one ran a red and crushed the rr corner of my car in. It ripped the veggie tank off it's mounts. But I have since purchased a 93 300d, same color and everything. I am in the process of swapping components. The tank is not leaking but had been bent up a little.
I had just under 2000 miles on veggie when wrecked. I hadne't even used a whole tank of diesel yet.

Sorry to hear about the 1st car! Man that sucks but it looks like you got back up and running quick.
I looked over all your pics (sad thing is I know every pic, even the close ups!). Couple comments/questions : 1. Id like to see how the lines exit the trunk and get over rear axle. I could never figure it out, so I ran up under rear seat which seemed to be easier. It just required to tight of fits, and extreme bending on my 87 300D to get lines that route. Show me how it was done! 2. Beeee reaaally careful how you have routed and secured the lines under the car. Reason being (and this is from experience) these cars clear the ground by very little. Pulling out of steep driveway can result in scraping. Those steel clamps get snagged and bend backwards, they are also nice and sharp. They will cut thru the lines with 1 good scrape. Ask me how I know ... My 2nd time around I used plastic heavy duty zip ties to the brake line brackets. Would be even better to just drill 2 holes in underbody and run plastic zip tie thru it. This way, should you hammer something under the car (inevitable), the zip tie/s will break and not harm the rubber coolant line. You already know how big a PIA to run those lines! Id loose the sharp metallic clips under there in favor of something that cannot damage the coolant lines. To that end, I also ran the coolant lines in a slitted 1 1/4 hose to further protect them - for their entire run. A skid plate is also a good idea, and what I will be doing next. Dont want to do this a 3rd time. You already know how tight it is going over steering gear - ANYWHERE it can rub, it will eventually break coolant hose and you are out $150 in new hose/line and 8 hrs of grunt work. 3. 10 pts for putting center console/computer fuse AT THE POWER SOURCE (not buried 2' down the line in the dash). There are all kinds of metal clips to chaffe wiring on in there. I almost turned mine 87 300d into a car-b-que when a wire grounded before the fuse! 4. Are you still running that site glass? Its not glass, its plastic, and it melts. So remove it after you trim the purge cycle. 5. Are you looping the return? Your engine (and WVO filter) will love you if you do ![]() Drive safe man, I have 40k miles on my frybrid kit and its still working great.

Yeah my hih under the car is ran inside 1 inch heater hose for aditional protection. I believe the metal strapping i have holding the hih is fine, it is really secure, (but if i hit something it could be ripped off, like anything could). All hoses in the car have been protected from rubbing and chaffing, i am very anal about that kind of stuff.(i work on hydralics everyday and am good a routing and protecting hoses.) All wireing in the car is also protected very well, i am not afraid of any shorts, I took my sweet time routing the wireing and hoses.
As for the rear suspension, i ran the heater hoses above the antisway bar, it will fit above it, and then thru my hole i cut in the trunk. My hole is just infront of the upper spring pocket almost toiuching it. I did have the back seat out looking to route it under that and out the bottom of the car and i did not see a easy way to do that so i scratched that idea. I do want to loop the system, i have not done that yet
