Default Can I reuse water filters?

Hello-

I am filtering through 10, 5, then 1 micron water filters (the white tube one) with an electric pump. Hoping to eventually switch to some sort of gravity setup, but stuck with this for the time being. I have been saving the clogged filters, this there anyway to reuse them. I found them for 1.40 ea shipped on ebay. They are cheap, but I would like to reuse them if possible. Any ideas on how to clean them and reuse them would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill

I can't imagine there is any way of cleaning them worth the $1.40 - they seem awfully disposable.

But I like your price. Who are you buying them from?

Would you reuse toilet paper?

I use 5 string wound 'water filters' only for the final filter; one filter cartridge lasts for a year because I use a canvas bag filter upstream of the cartridge filter and an upflow barrel before the bag filter and bug screen and pantyhose before the upflow barrel. One only needs a specific micron filter for the final stage. The bag filter, bugscreen and pantyhose filters are easily cleaned.

A $1.40 is very cheap for filters but if you really do want try to reuse them I suggest a google search on "how to clean water filters" there are tons of resources out there.

Good Luck
Cheers
