Mercedes have been one of our most popular conversions, ranging from the 60's vehicles right up to the 1999 E 300D. There has been a lot of talk about the pre-1985 mercedes being the best suited for vegetable oil conversions, this has not been our experience and we have found them all equally well suited. It is true that the early motors were very basic and quite robust and that pre-chamber engines are more forgiving. While these are admirable qualities we feel they have been over emphasized due to the use of poor quality conversion systems where every bit of engine durability was relied upon.
The Frybrid system is designed not to tax the engines abilities, nor rely on its ability to withstand abuse. Due to the superior design and functioning of the Frybrid system we have found it to be an equal performer on all the Mercedes vehicles allowing the conversion of vehicles with "Luxuries" like power windows, power seats, air bags, etc. with no compromise in performance.
